Flooring 101: Learn how to choose the right type of flooring.
Picking flooring for your home should be one of the first choices you make because it needs to go in before anything else. Consider it the most important choice because it sets the foundation for the overall look.
Color, texture and durability are very important.
Some of your choices are:
Hardwood: (If your budget allows it) I would definitely recommend hardwood floors. It’s durable and more importantly it adds value to your home. It’s also possible to get it prefinished (ready to install) or unfinished where you can stain it to your desired color.
Laminate: If you really want hardwood but you’re on a budget then laminate flooring is a great contender. It has the look or hardwood without the price tag.
Carpet: Carpet is great for rooms where comfort is important. Like, bedrooms and family rooms. Basically any room where you may spend any time lounging on the floor.
Vinyl: Vinyl is very budget friendly and it can be installed directly over most floors. Vinyl comes in a variety of looks and is durable and easy to clean.
Tile: Tile is a great option for areas that need to be cleaned easily and pretty often such as kitchens and bathrooms. Tile is available in ceramic, porcelain, stone, metal and even glass.
Do your research and make sure to choose the right flooring for your home.
